Since the 1992 reorganization of Class A-3A schools from Conference-to-District play, Webster City has won only one District Championship when the 1994 squad went 7-0 in District play and finished the season 8-2 and a loss in the 1st Round of the Playoffs to Spencer, the eventual 3A state champions. 

However, the 1996 squad were the Runners-up and went 6-0 in District play before losing to Charles City, 15-18, in the regular season finale; although Charles City won the District title with their victory over Webster City, the Lynx avenged their loss to Charles City merely five days later with a 7-0 victory n the 1st Round of the Class 3A playoffs as the '96 team advanced to the Quarterfinals where they eventually lost to Central Lyon, 14-36.
