Boone native Jim Duncan was appointed as the new head football coach after the 2003 season when former head coach Dick Kennedy stepped down to focus on his health. In his three seasons as the Lynx's leader, Webster City not only went 6-21 and never beat a team with a winning record, but were also outscored by their opponents, 874-392. After the 2006 season in which the Lynx went 2-7, Duncan resigned from his head coaching duties.
