Although not much information about the late Lester Moyer is currently known, it is fact that he graduated from the Des Moines College where he played on the Des Moines College football squad. Prior to coming to Webster City High, Moyer coached in Corning (1910-11) where his basketball team was the champion of southern Iowa. For the two seasons that it is certain Moyer led the Lynx, he guided them to back-to-back winning records with 4-3 and 6-2-1 campaigns in 1911 and 1912, respectively.
