From 1982 to 1996, Webster City qualified for the playoffs 11 times and two of those squads—1990 and 1996—made it to the Quarterfinals. The 1990 squad entered the 3A playoffs with a 8-1 record and soundly defeated Jefferson-Scranton 28-0 in the 1st Round before meeting and losing to the Spencer Tigers, 0-17, in the Quarterfinals. The 1996 Lynx—who are, to date, the last Webster City squad to qualify for the playoffs—advanced past Charles City, 7-0, in the 1st Round before being downed by Central Lyon in the Quarterfinals, 14-36. Regardless of their defeats in the Quarterfinals, both squad should be proud of their regular season and playoff accomplishments.
