•  Six (6) players were ineligible for the game (and subsequent loss) to Clarion
•  Iowa Falls was in the running for the Mythical State Championship until their 14-6 defeat by the Lynx
• All-State fullback Raymond Andes (known as "Webster City's Red Grange") was considered the greatest high school fullback the state ever had; he also had the unusual distinction of being an all-state basketball center
• Andes booted a 79-yard punt against Iowa Falls while rushing for 235 yards and scoring 5 TDs vs. Dows
