• The 1965 squad tied both the 1955, 1960, and 1961 squads for most wins in a season (9)
• For the second time in school history, Webster City defeated Fort Dodge with a 21-6 victory the last game of the season
• Only twice before in modern history (1961 and '63) did the Lynx have two players named to the IDPA All-State poll and this was the 11th straight season Webster City players were honored by IDPA
• Dave Brooks was only 1 of 3 juniors named to IDPA All-State squad
• Against Humboldt, Dave Brooks made 19 tackles
