To date, 16 Webster City football teams have gone through an entire regular season without being beaten.  The first squad to do this was the 1905 squad who went 4-0-2 and was followed by the 1913 team that went 2-0-1. 

However, the first squad to play a modern day full schedule was the 1936 squad who not only went 8-0 and were named the Iowa State Champions, but they also are only 1 of 14 Iowa prep squads to go both unbeaten and unscored upon in a season. 

The 1944 squad, led by running back Bill Chauncey who received national attention for scoring 31 touchdowns and making 5 extra points, also went 8-0.  Twelve other Lynx squads either went 8-0 or 9-0 the entire [regular] season—except the 1956 team who went 6-0-2—to join an elite club of unbeaten Lynx squads.
